Can I have my Kinetico K5 Drinking Water System to run to the main faucet in my kitchen?
It is technically possible to connect your Kinetico K5 Drinking Water System to your main kitchen faucet, however, once you do that and you run water like for washing dishes, you may deplete the water stored in the storage tank, and once that has occurred, you will be left with only the RO system’s production rate – which is a trickle (2-4 gallons per hour). What Does it Mean When Backwash Happens in a Kinetico Water Softener?
You might have some queries about backwash and what happens. Here are some of the key things to know about backwash for a Kinetico water softener. Backwash depends on actual usage, so rest assured you won’t be wasting water on unneeded backwashing and it’s economical. When you backwash a water softener system, it’s essential for solving issues of high iron and taste or odor issues from chlorine and sulfur.
If you’re wondering how long a Kinetico Water Softener will typically backwash, it’s not long. On average, systems will regenerate for around 35 to 65 minutes. Regeneration begins with the backwash cycle. The valve reverses the water flow in the system and clears the tank of impurities, which are removed through the drain connected to an external system, such as a sewer or septic tank.
How to Backwash a Kinetico Water Softener System
Backwashing a Kinetico Water Softener is simple. It does it automatically! If your system gets stuck in a backwash, then get in touch. All Kinetico Water Softeners regenerate when required, and only produce soft water as needed based off water usage. The non-electric control valve offers on-demand backwashing.
